Choir Spring Update

Beaconsfield Festival of Choirs 8 March 2025

We were the last choir to sing in the third concert, ‘Headlining’ as we like to call it. We sang three songs: Treat People with Kindness (Harry Styles), Senzenina (South Africa Traditional) and Shine (Take That).
Carol, a soprano, summed up the performance:
‘Wow! What a buzz that was!!
Probably our best performance so far! The musical director of the whole festival’s comments were -

‘Brilliant!! I love Take That! I put you at the end to close the concert on purpose as I always enjoy your performances’.

We have grown so much in confidence over the years and now look like we are really enjoying ourselves 😁
We are forever grateful to Yulia Hauer for getting us here!’

Open Evening 8 May 2025

We are in search of new members, so we are holding an open evening to provide interested people with an opportunity to see what we are all about. The Open Evening will be on 8 May starting at 7:30pm and running until 9:30pm. This will be in place of our usual rehearsal but will follow our usual format. If you are interested, just turn up, no need to let us know in advance.

Upon arrival you will:

• Be greeted by a Choir member, who can answer your questions and direct you to the SATB section of the choir you wish to sing with
• Be given words and music to the song we will be learning – most of the choir do not read music but we like to give people the choice.
• The Choir and visitors will all learn as much of the song as we can manage in the session, using listening and repetition to learn the tune and harmonies.
• At the end, be asked for feedback and given details of joining to those who are interested.

We hope to see you all because we believe singing is good for the soul and a weekly session amongst friends can be uplifting.
